Welcome to the “New” HighTalk

The latest and greatest HighTalk theme from WooThemes

Dear Readers:

Most importantly, thank you for your support over the last two years.  I very much appreciate your time and your visits to my small nook on the Web.  Since launching in January of 2009 (at the height of the economic turmoil in the U.S.), HighTalk has featured more than 300 posts, 1,400 comments, and just north of 100,000 views.  Readers have posted thousands of links from HighTalk to their blogs, Twitter, Facebook, FriendFeed and many more.  It’s been fun.

If this sounds like a farewell speech – don’t worry it isn’t.  But HighTalk is finally getting a face-lift (you may have noticed).  I know, I know, it’s about time.  I’ve been wanting to give HighTalk some spit and polish for a long while, but never seemed to have enough time to dive and do it.  Well, I finally rolled up my sleeves and plunged right in.

The primary reason is that WordPress made it easy for me.  I use WordPress for a blogging platform and for hosting.  Mostly because WordPress is one of the best blogging platforms – and communities – available.  They recently started offering premium designs and, well, after seeing the Headlines theme by WooThemes – it seemed like a no-brainer to switch over.

Headlines will give HighTalk more flexibility, customization and a more personalized look.  I dabble in design, but it’s never going to put supper on the table.  I’ve only just started to tinker and experiment so please be patient as I try to find the right balance.

As always I’m extremely interested in your feedback and input.  And thanks again for your support.

  1. Looks great, George. Though I’m not sure it will make your posts any better…Lol. Kidding.

  2. Thanks, Cody. No, unfortunately, a redesign won’t make me any smarter or have the posts write themselves…

  3. I like it! Hope things are going well for you these days, George!

  4. Thank you, Bob! And thanks for checking in.
